WASC Our Polytechnic Identity Working Group
The Our Polytechnic Identity Working Group focused on the following research questions from the Institutional Proposal (PDF):
- What should be the characteristics of Cal Poly as a 21st-century comprehensive, Master's-granting, polytechnic university?
- Who should we consider to be our peer and aspirational institutions?
- What are distinguishing challenges/opportunities of being a highly-rated comprehensive, Master's-granting, polytechnic university?
During 2008-09, the group focused on the capacity aspect of these questions, that is, what hard and soft infrastructure is in place to support and improve our comprehensive, polytechnic nature? The group's draft report is now available for comment.
