The office of Academic Programs and Planning serves as the main liaison for Cal Poly's accreditation.
History and Introduction
Cal Poly has been fully accredited since 1951; this accreditation was reaffirmed by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) in July 2022 for the maximum period of ten years.
The university, in its most recent self-study and institutional report, followed the Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation (TPR), exploring the following theme:
Promoting the Success of All Cal Poly Students While Achieving the Goals of the CSU's Graduation Initiative 2025
Specifically, Cal Poly's focus was on the following three subthemes:
- Recruiting and Retaining a More Diverse Community of Students, Staff, and Faculty
- Developing a Campus Culture that Is Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive
- Teaching and Learning How to Live and Work in a Diverse World
On February 16, 2022, Cal Poly submitted the TPR institutional report. On July 11, 2022, the university received the WSCUC Commission Action Letter, the formal notification and official record of action taken regarding Cal Poly's accreditation status.
