Background

This working group is studying the issues of recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff from historically under-represented backgrounds at Cal Poly. They are evaluating a broad spectrum of efforts being made in response to Cal Poly’s stated GI 2025 goals, including developing integrative models for both student advising and academic support, removing or reducing barriers to graduation, building a more supportive campus community that promotes a sense of belonging, and developing specific measures to eliminate the achievement gaps.
